- Owl calls in SD to find each other and to alert them at Beckfoot they had arrived
- Signalling by crossbow then hiding message in arrow

> I don't think the concept of the Pigeons in PP is signalling but is actually a form of sending a written message text, almost like writing a note to be delivered by "native mail."

what about the pigeon bell signalling 'a message has arrived'?

> In SW, the Eels used rockets for signals.

- Amazons send 'THREE MILLION CHEERS' in a semaphore drawing
- The first report sent back has 'LOVE FROM ALL' in a semaphore drawing
- Peggy gave an owl call and signalled 'MASTODON'
- backwards writing of the Eels

there were also quite a few unsuccessful signals
- Bridget and Titty were supposed to down the flag at the first sign of trouble
- Titty left a patteran to indicate they had gone off trail
- Titty and Roger send a smoke signal from the Red Sea but no one saw it
- John signalled 'BUCKUP' but wasn't seen

> WD had signalling by raising a certain signal flag to "request a pilot" or to "request customs clearance". There was also the signalling by foghorn or banging the frying pan to indicate "anchored" or "running with the wind."

PD: Signalling by foghorn to indicate direction, the sidelights are a type of signalling
WD: Sidelight again, Two hoots signalling turning to port when coming up the river
SW: Blue Peter

Other instances:
ML: Morse when in junk
ML: Singing to indicate Capt Flint was going away and they would be coming soon and they understood
PM: Signalling by lawnmower

There is a type of 'self-signal' like the patterans or blazes to indicate where to leave the path and the marks in the secret harbor and even the marks in ML that enabled Titty to direct them to where Amazon went ashore
