Wearing my "native guide" hat yesterday I took an Australian couple and their daughter to a particular Ransome site near Coniston (I'd rather not say exactly where). We were sitting contemplating the view when the daughter had a moment similar to that experienced by Roger when he found the tobacco tin on the summit of Kanchenjunga. She pulled out from under a rock what turned out to be a plastic container containing a message and various trinkets. It was clearly a geocache (which we duly put back under the rock).
I don't know much about this particular phenomenon - does anyone have personal experience of geocaching, especially regarding Ransome sites?
BTW - the location wasn't Kanchenjunga!
