The latest edition of the TARS publication Signals arrived here yesterday. It contained a letter from Peter Calamai, a science reporter for the Toronto Star and TARS member. He was claiming the "Furthest North" title following an Arctic voyage he made last year. See the link below for his blog on the trip.
Back in 2003, the Canadian ice breaker Amundsen, not Nansen, was frozen into the ice like the Fram and Peter slept aboard! Very Winter Holiday. Last year's trip was more mobile as the Amundsen was taking part in surveys of the diminishing polar ice cover.
