According to Google, there appear to be four Tates, two in London (one of which is Tate Modern), one in St. Ives, Cornwall, and one in Liverpool.
Google is your friend. Have a look at the Tate Britain site, and Tate St Ives. If you search there (on the site) for Ransome, and you'll see that there is a connection
