I'm certainly open to be corrected, but when I was taking a sailing course I was told that the name of a wind (westerly, easterly, etc.) referred to the direction from which it came. According to this, the prevailing wind blowing onto coastal B.C. is a westerly. My brain hurts too, I've just been wrestling with copying all my picture files to an external hard drive. Maybe chicken soup will help.
