Some time ago, I posted onto the "ALL THINGS RANSOME" collection an interesting simulation of how wind direction, boat heading, rudder movement, and mainsheet adjustment can affect performance in a simple sailboat. This gives one a chance to try out the various angles and see the results. To the non-sailor, it presents an opportunity to visually observe these results of simple manipulations of the controls. (Not much sailing around here, as this is HORSE country, where the horse barns are more expensive than the houses out front. But when that barn has several multi-million dollar horses in it, perhaps that deserves the best.)
