Mike,
Sorry if my comments offended you. It is never my intention to hurt anyone, and I suppose my remarks really hit home. I am truly sorry about your brother. I was going to add that if governments take over the responsibility of protecting us, we might be lulled into a false sense of security and rely on laws and rules rather than on our good common sense. Granted, some people have no common sense and drive like hooligans. It seems to me that no amount of sensible legislation will ever stop the occasional yahoo from endangering his own life and the lives of others. My thoughts are really part of my ongoing objection to the encroaching nanny state. No, I have never had anyone really close to me killed by the carelessness of a driver, but I have had three schoolfriends killed by motorists. I have been walking a very narrow line, and I must have stepped off it for a moment. Sorry again, Mike.
