As I sincerely hope that any possible further comment on this would be outside the AR/Tarboard domain, I won't other than to say that I agree that DRM is the problem - it leads Amazon to believe that they own the Kindle and its contents. (Which they very well might depending on the fine print; there's no reason that a digital container, even if physical, couldn't be subject to the same DRM draconia.)
To find an AR connection is difficult - except that I'm pretty sure he would have no truck with such things, given that he was strongly oriented towards choice, even if wrong.
