As far as I know the copyright for the S&A books in America is perfectly valid. Godine
is in the process of issuing the books in "trade paperback" format and has most of them
available at this point. The Gutenberg folks aren't capricious about this; their goal
is (in part) to make works available which simply won't become available any other way.
