An Australian friend just reminded me of something.
When Peggy explains, in SA, why Nancy is not called Ruth, do you think that she "gets the joke" made by her Uncle Jim?
To me, a part of the humour of the situation is that she does not - she says it with a poker face, which seems "right" for her character.
