As my Club Hut message is in praise of Mixed Moss, I had better repeat it here in order to avoid any misunderstanding (after which a period of silence from me would probably be welcome):
'I was very reassured to see the inclusion of a letter objecting to detailed literary analysis of AR ('Psychobabble' - p 62). I don't agree with the views in the letter and it is sad if someone feels they have to leave TARS, but that's not my point. What cheers me is that the Editor has had the courage to print such a letter in the first place. This is a definite move forward, away from the force-fed diet of relentless bonhomie and euphoria we have had up till now. Maybe if we can talk about such matters, people will not feel pressurised to resign. In addition we had Hugh Brogan's extensive grumble and a spirited rejoinder from Hilary Weston. Great stuff! The articles are good too - I particularly enjoyed the moving account of a sail in Scarab by Robert Thompson. As far as I am concerned this is the best MM yet - well done, Mr. Editor! (The 'layout' is good too.)'
