MONOTYPE KEYBANKS for the Lanston Monotype Keyboard
Good to hear about the days of brass and steam... But if the errors aren't there in the earlier Cape editions (well they don't seem to be in mine, to the extent that I have checked) does that rule out mistyping by a gnarled typesetter? When Godine did their editions, did they buy the use of Cape's plates or did they type it all in again? And are those errors in the American editions?
I'm curious; is it worn plates, or an early, basic mistake?
And yes, I do realise that at the time the typesetter would likely have been ungnarled. It's the terrible thing about history and getting older; not only do the policemen get younger but so does everybody else...
Except me, of course.
