Many collectors of the books are aware of a large mistake which was allowed into the first edition of Great Northern?, namely in the illustration (Cape page 63) Dick goes off to the lochs. In the left foreground AR originally drew a definite Amazon pirate(difficult to tell which, although it looks too small for Nancy). Both the Amazons were, of course, helping to
scrub the Sea Bear, so the figure should have been Dorothea.
This was corrected in subsequent editions, but has anyone else noticed that on the dust-wrapper of a brand-new Cape edition the relevant illustration (top left) is still wrong after over 50 years?!!

PS - Wayne Hammond has been informed! ;-)
