Ah Peter, what can I say... Absolutely wonderful stuff. I would like to think that one day I'll be able to get on board a train in Warsaw and get off at St Pancras. It used to be possible to go by train from Moscow to London's Liverpool Street Station with just a change for the train ferry from Hook of Holland to Harwich. I did the journey several times in the good old days when trains were cheaper than planes.
A very similar journey took place on 1 September to commemorate Sir Nicholas Winton's rescue of Jewish children from German-occupied Prague.
