In general, I agree with Mike about other authors writing sequels (and sometimes even the original author trying to do so after a lapse of many years). It is an almost impossible task as the work will be judged on how "faithful" it is (in several dimensions) as well as how good it is. And "faithful" is treacherous because fault can be found either way.

I do think that Jill Paton Walsh did about as good a job on Lord Peter with Thrones, Dominations and A Presumption of Death as I have encountered, and I'm glad she agreed to do it. At least they are not embarrassing to read.
