Interesting, I have to try to find that sequel (as I loved Treasure Island since I first read it with 8 or 9).
There is also a prequel, "Porto Bello Gold" by A.D. Howden-Smith which I read last year or so, and it's quite decent, certainly entertaining. The interesting thing is that the authors manages to bring in a Scots/Stuart connection. So there's also a little hommage to "Kidnapped" in it.
