Just a few notes regarding the naming of their sailing dingy, the SWALLOW.

Thirty two ships of the Royal Navy have borne the name HMS Swallow, after the bird, the Swallow.

And there was a ship, the SWALLOW, in "The Sea Hawk" (by Raphael Sabatini) which is the book Dorothea was reading on the train on the way to the lake in Chapter 2 of "Picts and Martyrs".

The Walkers were able to use the SWALLOW, which was the property of the Jackson's of Holly Howe. The fact that they took that little ship with them in the PETER DUCK and MISSEE LEE adventures perhaps adds to the argument that these are "made up" and not "real" unless we are to assume that somehow, the Jackson's sold their dingy to the Walkers, but there is no mention of such a deal.
