A fine chapter, I agree, but the one I loved best as a child was "The Able-Seaman and the Boy Explore", perhaps because it was an adventure that I could re-create without a boat or a tent, or even much of a location. Any culvert and bit of copse would do! I still think that it offers a sort of window into imaginative play.
