S&A series reprint histories unreliable?

I have here three reprints of the Cape 'Swallowdale', dated August 1932, April 1939 and (27th imp.) 1965. And a comparison of their reprint histories turns up a clear discrepancy.

The earliest says "First published 1931 / Reprinted July 1932 / Reprinted August 1932"

The other two start the histories with "First published November 1931 / Reprinted July 1932 / Reprinted December 1933 ..." (with the 1965 one giving impression counts instead of 'Reprinted').

So it looks as if my August 1932 printing has been omitted from the list in later printings, at least from April 1939 onwards.

Is there a simple explanation for this, or is it a real error, and if so is it thought to be an isolated one or could there be several other 'lost' printings in the series?

This is actually important for me, as I'm preparing ReproJackets for the series covering (eventually) all printings, and my series identifiers are going to be rather cocked up if the reprint histories are unreliable!
