Yes, when I toured SW with my Dad 50 yrs ago, the book was more
useful than the guide-book in many respects; the Stones from London
Br were easily found. I believe Skippers' Island had a causeway to it; I
distinctly remember the (lady) owner meeting our car there, pointing out
it was private poperty,and being v. gracious
(we left Skippers' in peace). Visitors must have been rare immed. after the
war.. I'm sure everything has changed ...
In retrospect it all seemed flat & muddy, so I haven't bothered to drag
any kids there, altho' I expect to show up at TARS Red Sea Crossng mtng.
