Penny, yes. An early S&A with Clifford Webb illustrations is worth a couple of hundred pounds I gather. Firsts of other titles can cost 30-50 pounds. In Australia, an ordinary hardback, no dustjacket, 2oth impression etc in good order costs around A$10 in many booksellers (if you can get to them first!) but I have been asked silly prices. A wrapper can double the value of an ordinary edition. The Puffin editions go for around A$5 in bookshops. Take your belaying pin with you to fight off other collectors!
