Very interesting - I started using color film occasionally in 1952.... but it was all slide film.

Yes. And it made life so easy... At a price. But it's just got better.

I went back to my slide boxes; Anne gives illustrated lectures and used to travel all over the place with loaded carousels but most venues stopped supporting slide projection, so we bought an Epson scanner and have been working our way through her large slide collection. She was irritated, but actually it's been a real blessing; the carousels weighed a ton and took up a lot of room. Now she carries everything in her pocket on a USB stick and displays using Powerpoint, but for me the delight has been having my old pix on the Mac. Now, I actually look at them again, instead of having to break out the projection kit. All my old school friends- even the dead ones... Spring to life. And the girls were so pretty.

And the quality is much better; simply superb. The Epson does colour correction. Against my instincts, I set it to auto, and it does it superbly. Dust removal, too. With the digital age, Kodachrome (and Anscochrome, and Agfa) have come into their own again.
