Andy, thanks for the encouragement for my imminent Horning trip, Andy. I'm hoping to construct a rudder this weekend. Luxury! It's arm-aching trying to steer with my 9ft double-ended paddle. I grip the sheet with my teeth, actually. It makes me grin - like a pirate. And one maverick gust of wind could pull my head off!
Yes, I'd like to go sailing with you. Will send you an email and we can find somewhere between here (Manchester) and Bristol. I've got a sister near Bath, which might be handy.
Anyone else fancy a paddle/sail? I've also got a larger 3/4 seater open canoe (no sail) to accommodate landlubbers and duffers.
