........ and I had used nmph because that is the unit specified in the Windermere Byelaws. There was huge debate because the 2000 Byelaws had used mph (allegedly in error) and this has been corrested to nmph in subsequent versions of the byelaws. A newly drafted and updated version of the Windermere Byelaws is currently awaiting ratification by DEFRA (The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs)..... speed limits are stated in nmph.
