Nonsense. The ethnicity of the characters in S&A is entirely incidental to the plot. The Othello comparison is just daft.

After all, as you question whether the story is "pure fiction" perhaps they should all be half Syrian?

Or maybe we should accept that this is a theatrical production not a realist, re-creation of the book.
