I too am a librarian and I've obviously heard of Arthur Ransome! But I do find that it depends on the age of the person and the country of their upbringing as to whether they have heard of AR or not. I'm sorry to say that most AR enthusiasts are British and relatively older than myself. Perhaps it's good news to think that a 34 year old Aussie can be an AR fan too!
