Ok, I guess Peel island is big enough to camp on. I have now found the actual comment from 'AR and Captain Flint's trunk' which says: "There is no room for the decent-sized camp that a housewife like Susan demanded" and also: "...there was barley enough room for Titty to have avoided the Amazons, let alone enough space for the massive charge launched against Captain Flint at the end of 'Swallowdale'." I think I was getting confused with the fact that the Altounyans never actually camped there, only used a sail as a tent to shelter from the sun.
