The town where I attended my last school (my family moved around a bit!) had a grammar school called the County High School which was mixed and then separate girls and boys Secondary Modern schools. When the comprehensive system came in the two secondary moderns were merged (they were either side of a no through road!) and renamed a High School to match the grammar school.
