In a conversation today, Moussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" came up, and it caused me to think about the oddly named picture "The Hut on Fowl's Legs". Now I have a vague feeling that this is a piece of Russian folklore, and may be in "Old Peter's Russian Tales". (There is a Ransome connection to this diatribe.) I haven't read the book, but perhaps some one who has can confirm or deny this, or even give us more details about the story?
