I have thought for a long time that Suzanna Hamilton (Susan in the 1974 film version) would be a great Mrs Walker.
Obviously Simon West should direct, though if you look at his CV one may be mistaken he had such an important role in the 1974 film.... :)
For the rest of the cast, I think Bernard Hill would be my perfect Captain Flint - the right blend of humour and gravitas.
The others would not matter so much as other than the (presumably unknown) children, the parts are very small but I would have a longing for Dawn French as Mrs Blackett :)
