I've been a heavy reader for about as long as I can remember. My whold family was. When our parents would say it was time for bed, my sisters and I would always say, "Can't we finish just this chapter?". We would all go back to reading and it would take at least half an hour before our parents would wake to the fact that it had been more than just "one" chapter! I still sometimes read two books a day if I'm feeling like it (nothing like a Terry Pratchett or Ransome series to escape from the world!).
