The Guardian today reports that the Heritage Lottery Fund has given £7.4m towards the £10m restoration project at the Windermere Steamboat Museum.

Congratulations to the Steamboat team for this success, hopefully the Museum will be able to undertake the work needed on the boats and the centre, and reopen to the public as soon as possible. Adrian Stone, the Manager, spoke to TARS a few months ago, and his plans sounded both interesting and practical.

The Heritage Lottery website has no news yet of this round of grants.
