Captain Johnny has just completed, along with my two junior co-pirates, a short cultural tour of Alton Towers, Hawkshead and the gift-shops of Bowness. Aren't those fridge-magnets wonderful? But the high spot was, of course, peeling my eyes and heading for Wild Cat again! The weather was atrocious; the waves were high; and a good many good men were almost lost on the perilous journey. Whilst there, with a little grog and Marmite sandwiches, I wondered if anyone has buried any treasure on the island...I'm sure they must have. Any pirates' maps out there?
* And, Peter Willis, you've just reminded me of the almost forgotten
joys of J + D. I'm off to the bookshop to find a Buckeridge again.
Was never too keen on Bunter books, but I seem to remember that
Frank Richards is (or was) the most prolific author of all time.
That right?
Best wishes, me hearties,
Captain Johnny Broadbeans
