While it may be argued that Beckfoot is hardly a grand 'country house' - more like an extended farmhouse
from AR's description – it does have some country house features and accoutrements:

• boathouse
  
• motor launch, sailing dinghy, rowing boat
  
• houseboat
  
• disused tennis court
  
• croquet lawn
  
• own running water supply (formerly water drawn from well)
  
• once had more servants
