Found this film clip from 1948

A couple more goodies there... The 'oil shop', showing some of the lanterns available, almost certainly unchanged from the '30s, including the large fixed type with a ribbon wick (Holly Howe kitchen?) and the portable ones (Mrs Blackett in the wood?). Plus the electric power switch on. The meter reads 10,000 volts.
