Yes, it is a new bathroom, converted probably from a bedroom. The original Lanehead bathroom has long gone. But AR must have looked out from this or an adjoining bedroom and seen the same distant view. The whole place is full of Ransome (and Collingwood) atmosphere in a way it is hard to describe in words.
Lanehead was until recently an outdoor activity centre, but is now on the market. The guide price is £800,000. If anyone out there has that kind of money, or has access to that kind of money, and would like to save this Ransome icon so that it can be treasured and visited by AR fans in the years to come, please contact me asap. I am serious.
