We know The Lake is a landscape of the imagination. But then there's this quote:

"No matter where I was, wandering about the world, I used at night to look for the North Star and, in my mind’s eye, could see the beloved sky-line of great hills beneath it."

See quite well, I think! :o) Here are three views looking vaguely north, two from S&A, which match rather well, and one from the more modern Google Earth. Which also matches rather well.

I must admit, when looking through the five Lake books, it's surprising how little is really shown of the surrounding countryside: it becomes a landscape of our imagination. But I'd buy this suggestion for a "remembered reality".
