Dave - I can see your point, but isn't all parody designed to warn of what could happen? (what makes Fergus' interesting is of course the connection between the SA film and Nineteen Eighty Four.)
If you think of Swift's Modest Proposal through to what appears in Private Eye this kind of parody has always (and before Swift) been used to alert people to what is going on around them.
