Having watched both the Coot Club and Big Six series again quite recently I'm pretty sure everyone is correct in some part. The Death and Glory appeared in Coot Club as the open boat and then with a cabin in The Big Six, following the explanation in the books (if I remember correctly) that the salvage reward money from the Hullabaloos boat was spent on building the cabin and installing the stove. Obviously the chimney plays a crucial part...
My son, who is 12, would happily have me trade in our plastic sail cruiser (Missee Lee) for an exact replica of the cabined Death and Glory. He wants a wood stove onboard to smoke fish. Not eels though.
