The artwork in WH quite surprisingly shows that this observation post seemed to be on very hilly ground, up a steep rise, yet photos of the north end of Windermere seem to show quite level ground. This higher point of view would enhance the viewing angle to see more of the lake.
This artwork shows that the windows are on one side only, the side facing the lake, with the fireplace and chimney at the rear.
