Well we have had a very busy season running our Launches on Coniston Water - for the first time we ran at least one Swallows & Amazons cruise every week from the end of March until now - I think we only failed to run through lack of demand on one occasion.
We have had lots of real experts (of all ages) aboard, had great fun and some really good discussions about S&A topics as we have sailed the lake. One subject that came up was that of dogs in the S&A books. I usually ask passengers if they can name a dog in one of the stories and, almost invariably, someone will remember Pug Dog William.
There are however several other dogs that occur in the books and now that the evenings are drawing in I wonder if all you S&A enthusiasts (in the Northern Hemisphere at least!) would like to help me draw up a list of farm dogs, hounds, etc that occur - preferably with references to book and chapter.
