Yes, as I said, SW illustrations suffered from 'bohemianism'. Rules broken... But in BS, although the main illustrations all have their borders as they should (except technically the darkroom scene, 'Developing' p.375 where the black and the dark hatching go to the edge but aren't closed off by a line, unlike the other night scene, 'Five finger print' on p.288 where there are lines round the edge of the hatching- God, why did I even look?) it's the turn of the chapter end drawings to have anomalies. Not that this matters in the slightest but I suppose it's okay to get obsessive from time to time.
