An interesting aspect of one of her letters was that she recommended a doctor for AR's ulcer problem and hinted she would help him pay for it, as he was expensive. Clearly someone who thought highly of him and could afford to assist.
What was the date of that letter? Presumably, before SA had been such a great success, and Ransome had become prosperous beyond the dreams of (former) authorship. But then, how would she have known about him? A fan of his journalism, or of 'Bohemia'? Or was she a personal friend?
