The word "Morecambe" doesn't appear in the 12 S&A books, but various biographical works will tell you that AR and Ernest Altounyan drove to Morecambe Bay to purchase two dinghies...and the rest is history.
I also recall that AR's grandfather(?) was a fisherman on Morecambe Bay, and would often get stuck out there at low tide. I think this was mentioned in the Autobiography, where the grandmother would point out the light on the sands to the young AR.
