Given that this is where he came from, wouldn't that be inevitable? He may have removed to the Bohemian life in Chelsea, and that is what is written about most for that time, because it formed him as a writer, and then the Lanehead years that formed him as a Lakelander and so powerfully affected his mature writing, but I guess I took it for granted that his roots lay in Yorkshire and didn't notice that hole in most biographies. Which is perfectly logical in terms of writing about him.
