I am very impressed by your research and deductive logic. I
also think you are right about a "cover up". Though that does
not necessarily imply a "dark" secret. If one (or both!) of the
Blacketts was an early childhood sweetheart it would explain
why AR has disguised their origins. I lean towards a "hybrid"
or Russian Doll linkage:
Blacketts -> Crossleys -> Collingwood daughters.
But even if I am right it only goes someway to explaining NB's
importance and larger than life role. Did any of the Crossleys
or Collingwoods go about shivering their timbers or is there yet
another hitherto undiscovered role model for NB?
