The Crossley Girls went to Private School and only sailed during the school Holidays using their Grandfathers Sailing Dinghy. According to local legend, The girls sunk their Father's Houseboat by accident. As their FATHER was the original of Captain Flint and not their Uncle. Just how close to the real Blacketts do you need to get. Even the real version of the Beckfoot Motor Launch, actually a Steam Launch called "Daffodil" belonged to them as well.
The ages are right and their father owned the houseboat "Esperance" and was the author of a book called "Mere Verses".
I would love to know what the link with AR was. Perhaps the "cover up" was their father's idea in some sort of arrangement with AR. Don't forget. AR said he didn't want a repeat of the Lord Byron Libel Case.
