Jumped in the canoe yesterday and found myself nearer the water than ever. Must diet...tubby pirates useless at swashbuckling and hand-to-hand fighting on the rubbing strakes. Stiil, lower centre of gravity is a plus-point!

Congrats to Tabi Tat for spotting the Tabitha anagram.

Anyone spot the recent Arthur references on the tellybox? A contestant on Who Wants to be a Mi££ionaire was asked to name the Author of SA. He didn't know, and neither did the audience majority; but his phone-a-friend got it right. Then on 15 to 1, the question went something like, "TARS is the club dedicated to the author of SA. Who was he?" The contestant didn't know (grrrr!).

On punctuation: I don't think I've ever seen a semi-colon in AR's writings. Maybe t'was his journo background, or the fact that he was aiming his books at kids.

And, please...many we we have some progress reports on 'Seahopper' and Ike's hopefully-not-still-unnamed sailing boat?
