James Turner Street

Has anyone else noticed that the subject of the notorious Ch 4 programme, 'Benefit Street' is actually called, James Turner Street? I've not been watching so the penny didn't drop till I saw a still on facebook.
I wonder who the James Turner is that this road in Birmingham is named after. Surely not our 'Uncle Jim'?
