Ah. Well, as a nine-year-old, I coloured in (in coloured pencil -- 'Lakeland' pencils, to give the AR connection) all the line drawings in Elleston Trevor's 'The Island of the Pines'. This is a book, like the AR canon, that I read annually. The book itself hasn't suffered, as I found when I scanned some pages -- the colour just bleaches out, and you're left with David Williams' wonderful illustrations just as they were.
